The Easy Way to Address Copper Deficiency
The suspension concentrate formulation contains 50% copper – five times more than typical liquid chelated products – and 6.9% nitrogen.
Yara Crop Nutrition Sales Agronomist, Jason Brady, says YaraVita COPTRAC provides a rich source of available copper for up to 90 days, as well as a welcome boost of nitrogen.
“Copper is essential for photosynthesis and for the functioning of several enzymes,” he says.
“It plays a key role in flower and seed formation and in the synthesis of lignin, which provides physical strength for shoots and stems, as well as vascular tissues that carry water throughout the plant.
“Likewise, nitrogen plays a key role in the production of amino acids and protein synthesis,
“Nitrogen also has a key role in chlorophyll and energy storage.”
Jason says foliar fertilisers enable the precise delivery of required nutrients at the right time.
“Foliar application has two important benefits,” he says.
“Firstly, it can be specifically targeted to address an immediate crop need – in this case, copper.
“Secondly, it provides the required nutrients to the plant in a form for immediate uptake by the leaves.
“As a result, the grower is not reliant on the right soil conditions to put the crop back on course.”
YaraVita COPTRAC is applied at 175–500 mL/ha from the four leaf stage to the start of stem extension (Zadoks GS32) in a spray volume of 50 to 200 L/ha.
“The purity of the raw ingredients and uniform particle ensures quick uptake and crop safety,” Jason says.
“This high quality SC formulation is easy to measure, pour and mix and contains all the necessary wetters and stickers to maximise uptake in all weather conditions.
“Even better, it is compatible with a wide range of crop protection products for easy, one-pass application.
“However, always check the compatibility of the intended tank-mix partners before mixing by visiting the Yara website or downloading the Yara Tankmix app.”
